FULL VERSION Born in São Paulo on 19 November 1975, Ricardo Bermudez Garcia built an outstanding career as a setter. Known as Ricardinho, he was part of the Brazilian national team that won Olympic gold at Athens 2004, the 2002 and 2006 World Championships and six World League titles. At London 2012, he won his second Olympic medal: silver. His reading of the game and the speed of his sets helped transform volleyball’s attacking dynamics. By anticipating decisions and speeding up ball distribution, Ricardinho expanded his team’s attacking options and became a reference point for the position. Since retiring as a player in 2018, he has continued to share his experience. R17 organises this knowledge into a method, training programmes and experiences, connecting sport with the development of athletes and coaches and with discussions on leadership, preparation and high performance in teams.
